Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
Rene London is an online clothing store operated by Vistmere Commerce Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or shop on this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It covers this website and any email or messaging contact you have with our customer service team.
We are based in the United Kingdom and handle personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Some of our service providers process information outside the UK — section 7 explains what that means for you.
1. Who is responsible for your information
The data controller responsible for the personal information described here is:
Vistmere Commerce Ltd, trading as Rene London
Company number 17475406, registered in England and Wales
Office 7594, 58 Peregrine Road, Hainault, Ilford, Essex, IG6 3SZ, United Kingdom
Email: support@renelondon.com
Phone: +44 7402 265690
2. What we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order we collect your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and phone number. When you email us, subscribe to our emails, leave a review or ask a sizing question, we collect whatever you choose to include in that message, together with the address you contacted us from.
Payment information. We do not collect or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. Card details are entered straight into the checkout, which is run by Shopify, and are handled by the payment provider you select. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, the type of payment method and the last four digits of the card, so we can identify your order and issue a refund.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, we record technical information as you browse: your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, screen size, language, the site that referred you, the pages you view, what you search for, what you add to your basket, and the dates and times of your visits. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies — see section 5.
Information from others. Our payment and fraud-prevention providers may give us a risk assessment for an order. Carriers send us delivery scans and status updates. If you reach us via a social or advertising platform, that platform may tell us which campaign you came from. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
We do not ask for special category data — such as health, biometric, racial or ethnic origin, political, religious or sexual-orientation information — and ask that you do not send it to us.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To fulfil your order (contract): to take payment, check for fraud, create a shipping label, dispatch your parcel, give you tracking, and handle returns, exchanges and refunds.
- To support you (contract and legitimate interests): to answer your emails, look up an order, advise on sizing and resolve a delivery or quality issue.
- To run and improve the store (legitimate interests): to understand which products and pages are popular, fix errors, test changes, keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
- To market to you (consent): to send new-arrival and promotional emails if you have opted in, and to show you our advertising on other platforms where you have accepted advertising cookies.
- To meet our legal obligations (legal obligation): to keep transaction and tax records, respond to lawful requests and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own independent marketing.
4. Marketing emails
You only receive marketing emails from us if you asked for them — by subscribing on this site or ticking the box at checkout. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email support@renelondon.com and ask to be removed. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately on our side, although an email that is already queued may still arrive. Order confirmations, dispatch notices, tracking updates and replies to your enquiries are service messages rather than marketing and are sent whether or not you subscribe.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies that keep your basket, remember your session, apply a discount code and protect checkout. The store cannot function without them.
- Performance and analytics cookies that count visits and show us, in aggregate, which pages and products are used.
- Advertising cookies that measure whether an ad led to a visit or a sale, and let us show you our products again on other platforms.
In line with PECR, we only set non-essential cookies once you have agreed to them through our cookie banner, and you can change your choices at any time by reopening the banner or clearing your cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout from working.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the store, and only what they need to do their job:
- Shopify — hosts this website and runs the checkout. Shopify's own privacy policy is available at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Payment providers — the provider you choose at checkout (for example Shopify Payments, PayPal or Shop Pay) receives your payment and billing details directly and handles them under its own privacy policy.
- Carriers and fulfilment partners — your name, delivery address, phone number and email, so your parcel can be delivered and tracked.
- Order tracking — our tracking page is powered by ParcelPanel, which receives your order and tracking numbers to show delivery progress.
- Analytics and advertising platforms — usage and campaign data, generally in aggregated or pseudonymised form.
- Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it — for example our accountants, or a lawful request from a regulator, court or law-enforcement agency.
- A buyer or successor — if the business is sold or restructured, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
7. International transfers
The providers listed above operate globally, so your personal information may be stored on or accessed from servers outside the UK — most commonly in the United States, Canada, the European Union and Singapore. Where information is transferred to a country that does not have a UK adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, included in the terms we accept with each provider.
8. How long we keep it
Order records, including your name, addresses and what you ordered, are kept for six years from the end of the financial year in which the order was placed, because UK tax and company-record rules require it. Customer service correspondence is kept for up to three years so we can see the history of a return or a quality claim. Marketing subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe, and for a short time afterwards so we do not email you again by mistake. Analytics data is kept in aggregate. When information is no longer needed for any of these purposes and we are not required to keep it, we delete or anonymise it.
9. Security
This website is served over HTTPS and checkout is encrypted in transit. Access to order and customer data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders and answer enquiries, and is protected by individual accounts and multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and, where the risk is high, tell you without undue delay.
10. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Rectify anything that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Erase your information, where we are not required to keep it;
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to direct marketing at any time;
- Data portability — receive a copy of the information you gave us in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on your consent.
Email support@renelondon.com with your request and the order number or email address you used, so we can find your records. We will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will tell you if we cannot carry out a request in full — for example where tax law requires us to keep an order record — and why. Exercising any of these rights will never lead to a worse price or a worse service.
11. Children
This store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email support@renelondon.com and we will delete it.
12. Other websites
Our pages sometimes link to other websites, such as a carrier's tracking page or a payment provider. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before giving them your information.
13. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first at support@renelondon.com — we will investigate and reply in writing, usually within one month. If you are not happy with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, our providers or the law change. The latest version is always on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will make that clear on the site.
